We hope that your bedroom is pretty big, because today we are bringing you oversized bedroom furniture. There’s no such thing as a polyamorous mattress, but when it comes to making the perfect poly bed setup to comfortably sleep your polycule there are a lot of very large options.

Or maybe you’re solo-poly and just want a large bed for you and your dogs? No matter how many people you are trying to comfortably sleep in the same bed, giant oversized beds for your poly family come in two types.
Type 1 - Oversized Mattresses
The first type is beds that you can buy. This is where you purchase a single mattress in an extra large size. Standard extra large sizes like California King or Alaskan King size can just be purchased, as can bed frames in these sizes.
Type 2 - Some Assembly Required
The second type is where you combine two more reasonably sized mattresses to make one of the standard oversize sizes we illustrated above. This is what I did to turn what was basically two Queen sized beds into one giant Family King size bed.
How to turn 2 Queens into a Family King
In my own case I had a regular Queen size bed, and a couch from Ikea that converted into a Queen size bed. One day I decided to try to combine them to see if I could make a Family King. By combining these two 60x80 size mattresses and joining them together, I was able to create 120 x 80 inches of giant bed couch. I’m lucky enough to have a really big bedroom that accommodates my new giant bed.
What I needed:
The set includes 8 anti-slip foam pads for the top and 8 anti-slip rubber pads for the bottom of the risers. Each of the riser provides an elevation of up to 2 inches and is able to lift 1,250 lbs

How big of a bed is too big?
Step 1 was to make both the couch and the queen bed level, and since it was going to hang off of the edge of a step, I needed the Bed riser (2 inch pack of 8) Anti Slip Furniture Risers to be able to adjust things to the perfect height.
Next I used the Bed Bridge Bed Gap Filler With Strap to tie the queen mattress to the couch mattress which was also a queen. This one Bed Bridge Bed Gap Filler With Strap was able to go the entire circumference of both queens.
There’s some pink rope peeking out, because of course my bed also has a built-in restraint system, but that’s for another article.
Polyamorous Sheet Sets
Once both mattresses were strapped together it was time for the Family King Size Mattress protector 120x80 & the CASA Linen Family King 4pc Bed Sheet set. Being polyamorous, of course I got multiple sheet sets so that I can have a clean set on the bed while another set is in the wash, and needed a mattress protector that spans the full 120x80 inch surface to be fully waterproof!
I chose two queen comforters because if I ever move to a place where I don’t have enough room for this setup, I can go back to two Queen beds. Another option however would be 3 Twin comforters, because if you are familiar with the position of the middle spoon you know that split comforters are important.
Finally all put together this is my new Family King size bed.
